The new version includes the following:

* 2 new pitches to play on - Ice and Futuristic. The Ice pitch is obviously icy and the ball rolls a lot further. The futuristic pitch is a new design which includes obstacles that you can boot the ball off and new goal areas.

* Rating display for each team on the Team Select screens. Represented by a horizontal bar underneath the kit design. This makes it easy to see which teams are better than the others.

* Improved A.I. In older versions the computer opponents stuck to you like glue. The A.I has now been improved to be more realistic.

* Menu screens have been tarted up a bit.

The new demo version of the game can be downloaded at http://addictive247.fileburst.com/addictivefootballdemo.exe

The full version can be purchased at http://www.addictive247.co.uk/purchasefooty.htm

As always, all feedback welcome :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1171117386563319962007-02-10T14:15:00.000+00:002007-04-02T09:56:53.340+00:00Team Ratings
In the new version (v1.7) which should be released next week we've also added a new rating system which shows a teams overall rating on the Team Select screens. This makes it easy for players to see which teams are better than others. Of course they can always go to the Team Information screen to get a full breakdown of the stats but this should help new players as well.

The screenie above shows the new rating bars for the two teams (underneath the actual kits). So by taking a quick glance we can see that Corrin UTD should absolutely batter Hoggy United - or will they?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1170852158793085222007-02-07T12:39:00.000+00:002007-03-18T01:51:13.566+00:00Addictive Football Improvement SurveyWe've just added a new Improvement Survey for Addictive Football. You can also run round and around them and try and shake off an attacking player! Great fun when playing against a friend, which should annoy the hell out of them.

The screenshot above shows the new goal area. The two warning lights at the bottom of the screen start flashing red when a goal is scored.

The new pitch designs are currently being tested and will appear in the next build of the game. I think the design of the actual pitch still needs a bit of tweaking but version 1.7 might be out this week, if all is well.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1170716134462201832007-02-05T22:49:00.000+00:002007-02-05T22:55:34.473+00:00Futuristic PitchJust for fun the next build of Addictive Football will also feature a futuristic pitch to play on along with the new Ice pitch. That means there will be a total of 6 pitches to play on in the full game.

I'm still working on some of the pitch detail but I'll post a screenie tomorrow. It basically plays like the other pitches but is faster and there's obstacles which will be in the way when playing.

Both the new Ice and Futuristic pitches will be available for the Friendly and Custom game modes only and will not be unlocked in the demo version.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1170260916853971212007-01-31T16:22:00.000+00:002007-02-05T16:09:19.500+00:00Ice Ice Baby!Work continues on the new Ice pitch. It's pretty much complete but I'm not too sure about the surrounding area of the pitch.

Anyway, it's quite good fun on ice as the ball rolls a lot more and a lot further which means you end up chasing it a lot more. I did have it with the players control being "slippy" but it became too frustrating to play - even for me!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1169642542457054892007-01-24T12:33:00.000+00:002007-02-28T05:26:24.336+00:00PC Advisor Cover DiskAddictive Football has made it onto the front cover DVD of PC Advisor (Issue 140)- hurray!

You can see the logo on the left hand side of the screenie below:

So, I've picked up a copy and checked to see which version they've included. Unfortunately, they've used version 1.4 which means no after-touch, no new menus, no improved A.I etc, etc. As magazines are printed and prepared so many months in advance this is bound to happen.

It's great to get it on the cover DVD though. If you're a PC Advisor reader then I suggest you get the latest version of Addictive Football (v1.6) HEREUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1169639131380639462007-01-24T11:42:00.000+00:002007-03-13T22:43:47.493+00:00Liverpool V Everton - Addictive Football Style!Just for fun I've used the Team Name and Player Editor and setup a game between Liverpool and Everton. This time by Gnade Games.

The full review can be read HERE but heres some quotes:

"This game definitely delivers in the addictive department and is VERY fun against a friend. It totally took me back a decade playing my friends in similar games at each others houses every weekend"
That was what we were hoping to achieve with the game. . .

"4 types of pitches, 10 teams, and 5 different gamemodes. The best of all of this is the Custom mode which allows you to set the skills of your own players and create your own team."
A lot of people say the Custom Game Mode is their favourite . . .

"Ah the simplicity of the 16-bit era, Controls are simple: pass, shoot, and move- and work well. The goalies are smart and surprisingly adept. Easy to pick up and play and great with a friend."
Again, this was the main aim of the game - easy to pick up and play and not taking itself too seriously . . .

"I would've liked to see a little more fantastic and fun pitches...like an Ice themed Stadium or Lava and whatnot."
Expect some new fun pitches very soon :)

The final verdict on the game was a cool 79%Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1168962214007433792007-01-16T15:37:00.000+00:002007-01-16T15:43:34.020+00:00I've been busy, honest!Been a bit slack with posting any info about Addictive Football lately. It's just that there hasn't been anything to post about!

There will be a new build, probably next week. I've found a small bug to do with the menu screens and the re-define key option. It's not exactly show-stopping but nice to clean it up.

There may also be a few other smaller changes in version 1.6 to do with the menus. We may also be adding an icy pitch to the game which should make for fun and games when playing. Not sure if that will appear in the next version or not yet.

Anyway, we're still alive and work is continuing. Don't forget about our Price Rise Bonanza either. There has been 6 price increases so far and Addictive Football is currently up to $9.95.

Be quick before the price rises again and Buy Addictive Football Now before it gets back up to it's normal price.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1168441846812465642007-01-10T15:08:00.000+00:002007-01-10T15:10:46.826+00:00Price Rise Bonanza!Addictive 247 are pleased to announce the Price Rise Bonanza!

At the moment the prices of all our games (including Addictive Football) are at a stupidly low price, however, they won't stay that way and will now start to increase in price. It only bends the ball slightly but it's just enough.

The pitch size for the grass and concrete pitches has been increased in width slightly. They originally looked a bit narrow. The astro and indoor pitches are unaltered.

The goal kick has also been improved. If you use the Shoot key to take your goal kick (boot it upfield) the ball will grow in size to show height and will go much further than before.

New demo version can be found at http://addictive247.fileburst.com/addictivefootballdemo.exe

If you like the game it can be purchased from http://www.addictive247.co.uk/purchasefooty.htm

Also, don't forget to play the demo and then fill in the Addictive Football Survey. If you don't know what after-touch is, it basically allows you to curve the ball slightly to the left or right when a shot is taken.

This was one of the features suggested by a number of people who completed the Addictive Football Survey.

If you haven't filled the survey in then please do go to the link above and give us your feedback. As a thank you we'll give you a 15% off discount code for any of our games.

The after-touch code seems to be working pretty well so far but some more tweaks are still needed. We're also going to include the option so you can play with it on or off. This new feature will be added to the next build of the game which should be released before Christmas.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30723318.post-1165847121796874492006-12-11T14:23:00.000+00:002006-12-11T14:25:21.816+00:00SurveyWe've just put up a very short survey to do with Addictive Football and would really appreciate it if you'd take the time to fill it in. Previously the team mate you could pass to had an arrow above his head. If he runs off screen though the arrow stays above his head meaning you can't see who to pass too!

The new version fixes this so if your team mate runs off screen the arrow stays on screen pointing to where he is upfield. It makes life (and passing!) a lot easier now.

Get the new free demo version nowUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
